The Opportunity We are currently looking for a Retail Sales Associate to join our team at the legendary Queen Mary for our on a Part Time basis. The Retail Sales Associates are responsible for providing first class service while completing transactions in a quick, efficient, courteous and professional manner.
Job Responsibilities Key responsibilities of a Retail Sales Associate include: • Greeting guests in a warm and friendly manner, acknowledging them upon arrival • Performing all functions relating to the handling of merchandise or cash in accordance with company policy • Contributing to the overall display and presentation efforts within the store environment, including stocking/replenishing merchandise, following visual merchandising guidelines, and general store housekeeping duties • Participating in physical inventory counts as required • Communicating all merchandise needs or issues as appropriate to managers • Collecting payment and providing change in a timely and courteous manner • Balancing end-of-day paperwork, including cash, credit cards, and discount coupons with minimal errors, overages or shortages • Answering the telephone in a professional manner and assisting guests with any questions, directions, etc. • Listening and responding to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice • Maintaining an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events
Job Requirements The ideal Retail Sales Associate will have 1 – 2 years of retail cashier and/or sales experience, exceptional communication skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for positive, upbeat individuals who have a passion for delivering excellent service.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
• High school degree or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests using a positive, clear speaking voice
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents as well as converse comfortably with customers
• Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that will include evenings, nights, and weekends
• Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds • Requires the ability to bend, twist and stand to perform normal job functions • Customer service and cash handling experience preferred
