Overview: To perform sales and customer service activities in an effective and efficient manner. To sell products in a profitable manner, representing the Center to customers and the public. The position requires, standing, sitting, smiling, effective communication on the phone, filing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service at all times. Accountabilities: -Customer Service ï¿½Knows the Interstate All Battery Centers Mission Statement (Every Battery for Every Need). ï¿½Know how to implement the Mission Statement (Weï¿½ll Have It, Weï¿½ll Find It, Weï¿½ll Build It). ï¿½Understands getting and keeping customers is the purpose of business. ï¿½Consults with customers/prospects regarding product needs and determines how those needs can be met. -Operations ï¿½Observes Interstate All Battery Centers operating systems. ï¿½Observes employee uniform standards. ï¿½Tests, analyzes, and diagnoses battery problems. ï¿½Receives specifications and/or samples and builds battery packs. ï¿½ If trained, completes the MDRs (Mobile Device Repairs) ï¿½Stocks shelves and sets up displays. ï¿½Keeps all areas of the store clean: floors, windows/doors, displays, parking lot, rest room, break area. ï¿½Able to Open and Close the Store. ï¿½Posting and Receiving orders. ï¿½Help customers over the phone and in the store. ï¿½Install Batteries in customers vehicles. ï¿½Install watch and Keyfob batteries. ï¿½Proactively calls commercial customers for Orders. ï¿½Files Invoices, works on Accounts Receivable, and completes back office work. ï¿½Observes safety standards at all times. Alerts managers of potentially unsafe situations. Is mindful of not doing a certain install for risk of breaking the customers device or car. ï¿½Works Local Store Marketing Events we Sponsor (Examples: Local Fair, Car Show, Fishing Tournamentsï¿½ etc.. ) -Skills and Abilities Displays ability for: ï¿½Verbal and written communications skills ï¿½Sales presentations ï¿½Organization, analysis, and problem-solving. ï¿½Technical Competence: Computer, calculator, measuring instruments, computer, cash register and fax machine. ï¿½Demonstrated ability to produce results with previous assignments. Ability to operate motor vehicle, use welder, soldering iron, and testing equipment. ï¿½Self-directed. Work without direct supervision for long periods of time -Educational Development A working knowledge of math and vocational exposure as would normally be acquired through a secondary education or through equivalent experience. -Experience Six months of work would be beneficial. Experience in retail operations and/or sales preferred. Interest in or knowledge of battery applications welcomed. Previous formal or informal training and understanding of Customer Service and Retail Sales. -Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual effort. Position requires sitting, standing, walking bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs and performing automotive battery installs. Close mental and visual attention to details. Work involves some irregularities and difficulties, repetitive and varied tasks. Continuous general concentration is required. -Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in a store setting. Frequently exposed to dirt, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness, and battery acid.
